Dear parents and students. Could you please ensure that 'Silly Bands' are left at home in the future as they are causing some issues both in the yard and the classroom.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Year 2 Neighbourhood team

Story Time
Next week we will be beginning a new enquiry topic that is related to storytelling.
We are inviting parents, grandparents and other special guests to share a story book with the neighbourhood. Each day next week there will be two 15 minute sessions from 9:00 - 9:15am and 3:15 - 3:30pm where you will be invited to read a narrative that is special to you.
If you are interested and are available during any of these times, there will be a timetable outside the learning areas where you can write your name in a preferred time slot.
Further information regarding these wonderful literacy sharing times will be sent home tomorrow.
We look forward to celebrating our learning with you.

Mathletics
We are all very excited in the Year 2 Neighbourhood because Mathletics had arrived.
Mathletics is a wonderful program that enables students to experience mathematics through interactive activities at their own pace and ability level. There is the opportunity for children to challenge other children from schools around the world with live maths games.
Students have been given their user names and passwords today so that they can set up their profile and begin to explore the program.
We encourage students to become familiar with the program as it offers a fantastic home learning experience. The Internet is required to run Mathletics and there will be opportunities for students to access their accounts during the school timetable. Children can also participate by using the library computers during lunch open times.
Have fun

Morning Tea Invitation

On Wednesday 6th April at 9.00am (last week of term) we will be having an open morning for the parents, family and friends of the Year 2 Neighbourhood. We would like for the children to make something with their family to share on the day (home made preferably). It could be sandwiches, scones, slices, fruit, cake, savoury treats or anything really!
There will be presentation of the learning by the children and then parents and friends will be invited to wander around as the children work on their learning agreements.
Water Safety and Survival Day
On Tuesday 29th March the Intensive Swimming program will focus on the rules and safety at the pool, beach and other wet environments. The students will practice water survival skills and rescue procedures. To make this a worthwhile learning experience for your child, we ask that all students involved in the program bring shorts and a T-shirt to wear over their bathers. Please bring a plastic bag to put your wet clothes in at the end of the session.

Learning Agreements
Today the children took home their Learning Agreements. Although some finished all the activities, it is not necessary for them to complete them all. It is the effort that is put into the learning tasks that is most important. We would encourage parents to discuss and write a brief comment on their first learning agreement.
Please bring your Learning Agreement to school.
